Chandell Tytlandsvik

Chandell Tytlandsvik Chandell is a Saskatchewan mom whose fitness journey, full of ups and downs, eventually brought her success – losing 105 pounds in less than a year. Her success, surprisingly, led her to become a North America-wide star of a Bowflex TreadClimber advertising campaign in early 2015. Now, she maintains her healthy life and shares her experience in this blog. Chandell says “I am not a trainer... I am not a nutritionist… I am an everyday super average mom trying to balance it all. Knowing that fitness doesn't have an end number to reach or time you stop – it’s every day making a conscious effort to be better for yourself and for your family. We only get one life and I want to be happy, healthy and kind in mine!” Her weight loss journey can be seen at her archived personal blog http://pennsmomma.blogspot.ca or you can follow her on Instagram @its.chandell

The workouts you don't want to do are the most important

We all have those days where your workouts feel sub par, and you feel
like this Where throughout your whole workout you are struggling to push harder, your tired and you honestly can not wait for it to be over...

Chandell's Fitness Must Haves

For me there are just certain things that I 'need' in order have a great workout:

Good Running Shoes

This is an absolute must. If you are finishing your workout and the bottom of your feet are hurting or are extremely sore, chances are you don't have on proper shoes. For me I really like Asics running shoes but I found they fell apart in the heel quickly.

Get back to your workouts after holidays

Thanksgiving: the Fall holiday where you get together with your family and visit, have drinks, and eat a lot of food!

Now, maybe not everyone in the fitness world will agree with me…but I am a firm believer in calories don't count on holidays.

Mud, Sweat and Tears

Well, I can say there was no tears and with how cold it was only a bit of sweat, but there sure was a TON of mud!

What an awesome event!! I am just so excited to tell you guys all about it! When I signed up for this mud race Ready to do Anything... Even Mudd!

Challenges are what make fitness fun

You know that feeling when someone does something and they make it look soooo easy, you all of a sudden think you can do it too? Well, this happened to me.

Find Balance in your Cooking

I have mentioned in my other posts that my husband has played hockey his whole life - him playing hockey is actually how we met. He was playing his first year of junior hockey in Estevan and I went to a party and well, the rest was history.

Chandell's experience on the Shopping Channel

I am not going to pretend I wasn't awkward, I was. I did a whole lot of weird things with my hands and said sentences that really didn't get finished. I even lost my footing on my machine once when walking and talking. BUT it all must have resonated with viewers because WE SOLD OUT and everyone I got the chance to meet at The Shopping Channel was so excited about how it went and how I did. Which, wow, is so crazy.

You have to make fitness a priority in your life

Now I always hear: the older you get the more your body changes. But truth is, it's the more YOU change. Yes, your metobolism slows down, and yes it is harder to find the time to be active. But truthfully, it's you who has to decide to make fitness a priority in your life. And it would be easier to sit on the couch or crush a bag of chips and it would be easier to use that time for working out to do absolutely anything else in your house like clean your floors... but you know what, it's not going to make you feel better about yourself.

Ready to do Anything... Even Mudd!

Last week I was in Toronto for a very quick 24 hours doing my training with The Shopping Channel. Honestly, it was so helpful and I was really glad it was done two weeks in advance. If you're curious, I did cry when telling my story to my trainer... when I am nervous and speaking to someone that doesn't already know me trying to explain who I was, it just crushes me.

The smallest decisions can impact your life!

Sometimes it's the smallest decisions that really impact your life, that change everything so quick you don't even understand until after it happens. This is what happened for me. I ordered a Treadclimber and it has now changed everything! Trust me I know that sounds cliche... as I was typing it I thought 'ah really, use any other wording!' But I can't… it really has changed everything!
