Is your New Year's Resolution to get in shape? If you're in the Edmonton area there's a great new program to help you on your way.
Flaman Fitness is donating a Bowflex gym and vibration trainer for the winner of the Health Club Challenge at Home, a 12 week contest put on by the Edmonton Journal and YMCA to help you lose weight and shape up.
Simply register at a participating YMCA in Edmonton on Sunday, Jan. 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., where health experts will weigh and measure you. Then you can set your own fitness goals and follow along with weekly fitness and nutrition tips sent to your email or in Monday's Edmonton Journal and on the web at www.edmontonjournal.com/healthclub.
Gem Mella, Sales Manager of Flaman Fitness in Edmonton, says he and his staff are always thinking of ways to help promote fitness in the community. “This challenge jives with our vision of helping people fight obesity and get fit," he says. “The timing was good too – it's a way to start the new year off with a good fitness program."
Mella hopes this contest will open doors for people who want to get in shape and that participants will maintain a fitness lifestyle beyond the 12 weeks. For those just starting out on a fitness program, he recommends starting slow and “taking it easy."
The Health Club Challenge's final weigh in and measurements result event takes place on Sunday, April 10. Judges will determine a winner based on total weight loss and inches loss during the challenge. You could win the grand prize package of a Pro PVS 2690 Vibration Trainer and a Bowflex Ultimate Gym courtesy of Flaman Fitness and a 1 year general membership to the YMCA.
