Finding the Right Time to Workout

Making a commitment to exercise is a big deal. For me, when I commit to something, I don't take it lightly. I had found the motivation to get back on an exercise routine (bridesmaid dress and an encouraging co-worker) but a key part of this was finding the time to do it.

My first thought was that I would do it after work. Sounds like a good idea, right? But soon I found that by the time I got home from work and made supper, I was tired or got too busy doing things around the house. I just couldn't make the time to walk on the treadmill.

So I started to think, where do I have time? In the mornings. I could easily get up an extra 30 minutes early and work out then. Not ideal (I am so not a morning person) but it made sense to use the time where I could find it. This was time that I was just spending sleeping, and could easily be filled with something else.

It's important to find the right time that works for your busy life. If you say you're going to work out in the afternoons, but things keep getting in the way and you keep pushing it off, it's never going to happen. We all have these ideal goals. But you have to find something that works for you realistically. That's the only way you're going to make your goals happen.
